Business Development Manager

Location: London, EC2M

Position: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: 40,000 to 50,000 /year plus 100% commission

Qualifications: Must have a Degree in one of the following:

- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Computer Systems

- We are now looking for a BDM to join an early stage office and work directly with the VP, Sales.


The Role

- This is an enterprise level business development opportunity and the chance to take a new and disruptive technology to market.
- Cyber security is one of the hottest sectors right now and this business is a true innovator in this space.
- One key challenge this presents is the sales approach becomes an education process. There is often no existing buying pattern or budget allocation and sales processes can become longer and complex as a result.
- However, once business is secured the speed at which clients scale spend having seen the benefits is truly impressive. Relatively low-value first-year deals have generally turned into high value multiyear engagements.
- Once you have completed a well-structured training programme, consisting of both classroom work and shadowing, you'll be tasked with securing new business with pre-identified accounts.
- Leads are generated via marketing and events and there is an existing pipeline of opportunity you will be given the opportunity to convert over time.
- Naturally, you'll be expected to supplement this where possible.


The Person

- This is a rare opportunity for someone with the right propensity for sales and intellect to move into an enterprise environment.
- This company favour training up the right individuals due to the unique nature of their technology.
- The preference would be to invest in someone for the long-term and fully train them to be a sales superstar in their environment.
- This is a complex industry and I'd expect someone with a computer sciences background or engineering background to be well suited.
- You'll need to have gained experience working with customers and explaining complex solutions.
- I'd expect backgrounds within pre-sales, software implementation, project management or product management to be great training grounds.
- The key is your desire and propensity to want to take these skills into sales.
